Unless you are a college professor or a comedian, the goal of every presentation you make should be to get your audience members to take some ACTION. It could be to sign a contract, buy your product, work longer hours, focus on quality, wear hard hats, or invest in your company.
Don't be shy about asking people to do what you want.
The problem most speakers have is that they just lay out all of the facts, perhaps the features of their product or service, and they hope people connect all of the dots and then ask to buy the product or contract for services. This is a mistake. When your audience is listening to you, they typically aren't analyzing and synthesizing as well. Your audience can do one thing at a time. Don't force you're your audience to come to the conclusions you want or to guess at what actions you want them to take.
Take a good luck at the text of your next speech. If you don't have specific calls to action, get out your rewrite pen and get to work.
