Teacher's Union Prays for N.J. Governor Christie's Death
Sometimes an ill timed joke can overshadow your message.
TJ Walker examines the case of a New Jersey educator who made light of his
wish for death to come to the NJ governor.
This Insight from TJ Walker came from his new book "How to Give a Pretty Good Presentation"
Here are the fundamental rules when it comes to tech problems during a presentation:
Don’t panic.
Don’t tell anyone if you can solve the problem yourself.
Don’t tell anyone if the problem can be skipped over without anyone’s really being bothered or noticing—say, a PowerPoint slide that has just gone blank.
If you are in a facility that has a tech support person and you have a problem that entails something like a microphone going dead, then calmly ask for the tech person to come help you.
If you get audio feedback when you move to a certain area, then avoid that area.
At all times, be prepared to finish your presentation without using any one piece of technology—whether it’s a projector, speaker, or laptop.
